Producer Story – Dukamo Family, Sidama
The Dukamo Family coffee legacy began with two brothers, Asefa and Mulugeta Dukamo, in the Bensa-Sidama region of Ethiopia. Their deep commitment to quality, traceability, and community-led farming has made them one of the most respected coffee producers in Sidama.
For over 15 years, the family has built a vertically integrated company that remains fully family-owned, managing:
• 3 farms
• 42 washing stations
• 6 dry mills
• Over 2,500 partnering farmers trained in sustainable, regenerative agriculture
This lot comes from their Daye Bensa farm and Shantawene washing station, located 10 km from the city of Daye. Surrounded by ancient forests and native trees over 200 years old, the coffee grows under natural shade at extremely high altitudes of 2,300–2,400 masl, creating exceptional complexity and elegance.
All work is performed by local residents and supervised by family members, continuing the Dukamo legacy of care, tradition, and precision. The result is a coffee that expresses both floral vibrancy and tropical fruit richness, with a smooth black tea finish that lingers.
