Information:

Founded in 1999, the Njuriga Washed Station serves over 470 smallholder coffee producers in Nyeri County. The farms delivering cherries to the station are situated on rich clayey volcanic soils at high altitudes, ideal for cultivating premium Kenyan varieties like SL 28, Ruiru 11, Batian, and SL 24.

The cooperative is led by Pauline Mumbi Karimi, supported by Maggi, known for her energy and warmth, and James Maina, who manages the wet mill. Together, they form a passionate and skilled team driving innovation and quality control in every batch.

The station is known for its experimental fermentation methods, including Natural Sleeping Bag, Anaerobic Natural, and Double Fermentation techniques. Each micro-lot is carefully processed and named after a star in Martines’ Constellations Range—this one is dedicated to Chort, reflecting brightness and refinement.

Why Choose This Coffee?
This is a complex and elegant Kenyan coffee that balances berry sweetness, citrus brightness, and a delicate wine-like finish. Perfect for both espresso and filter lovers looking for a refined and expressive cup.
