Producer Story – Tradition Meets Innovation
Andrés Salaverría is the fifth generation of a legendary coffee-producing family with over a century of heritage in El Salvador. From a young age, he was immersed in coffee, accompanying his father to the mills and learning the family craft firsthand. After completing his studies in Coffee Science and Economics at the Ernesto Illy Master’s Program, Andrés returned home with a vision to combine tradition and modernity.
Together with his father José Antonio Salaverría, he manages several farms across Atiquizaya, Concepción de Ataco, Jayúa, and Apaneca, with a strong focus on diversification, innovation in processing, and community impact.
Finca San Francisco, where this lot originates, is located near La Majada in the Apaneca-Ilamatepec region – an area renowned for its fertile volcanic soils and high-quality Bourbon varieties. The farm practices full shade cultivation and selective handpicking for optimal cherry ripeness. It's also home to a protected natural forest reserve and supports local health and education initiatives.
Why Choose This Coffee?
This lot is a vibrant, fruit-forward expression of El Salvador's coffee excellence, blending tropical sweetness, berry complexity, and delicate winey notes. Ideal for filter or espresso, it’s a versatile and elegant option for adventurous coffee lovers and professionals alike.
Andrés’s work reflects a balance between tradition and contemporary vision. His international experience and technical training have been key to strengthening the value proposition of family-owned coffee, bringing structure and focus to the commercialization of high-quality micro-lots. Thanks to his leadership, today the family business is prepared to respond to the demands of the global market, always maintaining its commitment to quality, traceability, and sustainable development at each stage of the chain.
