Producer Story – Alex Herrera, Atitlán Volcano
Alex Herrera belongs to the fifth generation of a legacy deeply rooted in Guatemala’s coffee tradition. From childhood, he walked among the trees of his family’s farms on the slopes of the Atitlán Volcano, learning the nuances of cultivation and processing. Today, he fuses technical expertise and international experience with his heritage to produce traceable, sustainable, and high-quality micro-lots.
Two farms define this coffee’s origin:
Finca Los Andes, acquired in 2024, revives a 19th-century estate with a new vision—combining old-world farming and modern processing techniques.
Finca Pampojilá, perched higher on the volcano, surrounded by volcanic soil and cool mist, was renovated in 2012 and continues to deliver exceptional coffees with terroir-driven identity.
Each batch from Alex’s farms tells a story of innovation, sustainability, and respect for the land. This lot in particular showcases how the Caturra variety can express both structure and vibrancy, delivering a cup with layers of tropical fruits, spiced nuts, and floral depth.
Why Choose This Coffee?
