Information:
The Los Campos farm is owned by the Ramirez-Navarro family. Its founder and head of the family, Mr. Alexis Ramirez, dedicated his entire life to agriculture.
In 2015, as part of a new challenge, the family took a big step forward by building their own micro-mill, "Los Campos". This allowed them to process their own coffee, focusing directly on quality and traceability of their micro-lots, while moving away from the cooperative system. Direct trade has always been their dream, which is why working with Grounds has been a milestone.
While they continue to cultivate traditional varieties such as Caturra and Catuai, they are also experimenting with F1 hybrids like Esperanza and Milenio, aiming to diversify and ensure sustainability. At the highest elevations of 2000 masl, they have also planted Gesha.
Many of their lots undergo fermentation techniques (aerobic and anaerobic), which result in coffees with complex, sweet, and fruity flavor profiles.
The Los Campos farm is located in the Los Santos region, more specifically in Tablón del Guarco, Cartago — a region well known for its high altitudes and outstanding coffee quality.
