Origin & Producer Story

This coffee comes from Emmanuel Rusatira, founder and owner of Baho Coffee, one of Rwanda’s respected specialty coffee projects. Emmanuel gained more than 15 years of experience in the coffee sector before starting his own project in 2016, with the goal of building washing stations across different regions of Rwanda and highlighting the diversity of the country’s coffee profiles.

The name Baho comes from a Rwandan expression meaning to have life, to be strong and to overcome adversity. This philosophy reflects Emmanuel’s personal journey and his work with local coffee farmers to improve quality, strengthen communities and build Rwanda’s reputation as a producer of exceptional specialty coffee.

The Karambi Washing Station is located in the Kizi Rift coffee region, within the Nyamagabe district. Built in 1983 and expanded in 2016, the station plays an important role for local coffee farmers by processing cherries from the surrounding high-altitude farms. Its location, fertile soils and favourable climate create excellent conditions for growing high-quality Red Bourbon Arabica coffee.

Why Choose This Coffee?
