Specialty coffee China Luo Family

For starters, we have chosen to present the specialty coffee China Luo Family, which was grown in the rural city of Yunnan at the initiative of two women - a mother and daughter, who focused on protecting the environment and sharing economic benefits with their community.

1. Origin and history

The history of this specialty Arabica coffee dates back to 1987 when Jane Luo and her husband decided to start a business in this industry, one of the first in that time, in Yunnan, China. Now, 30 years later, their daughter Yang Luo is working with her mother, Jane, to expand their business and exports worldwide. They are doing quite well, as their Yirong farm is currently a leader in the coffee industry because production stimulates many sectors that provide numerous jobs, allowing many households to work and care for their families.

2. Growing, processing, and characteristics

Once we have revealed the details of the establishment of the farm "Yirong" and its goals, it's time to share some details regarding the cultivation and processing of Chinese coffee. Although not considered China's main livelihood, the city of Yunnan has the ideal conditions for producing this Arabica coffee.

For fertilizing the coffee trees are used only the necessary components, without chemical pesticides. They are watered all year round by mountain water. The cherries are picked by hand and carefully selected. Then the beans are placed in a mechanical washing device, where they are fully washed. The coffee is then placed in concrete tanks to ferment for 24 to 30 hours. The beans are dried on specific "beds" for 30 to 38 days. The flavors that could be perceived are apple, brown sugar, nuts, orange. The SCA points of the China Luo Family coffee are 84, as it is certified according to world standards. It is significant to mention for those who appreciate the drink and have high criteria when choosing it.

Coffee producers in China seek to invest in training and infrastructure, emphasizing a lot of hard work and a stable quality control system, which contributes to the quality of specialty coffee. Thanks to this we can drink it around the world. We are very excited and committed to the mission to discover and offer delicious and selected coffees to our customers, which are sustainable and with care about nature and the people involved in the process.
